Crunchy oatmeal with bacon

120 g | 1/4 lb | bacon pieces |
1 l | 4 cup | water |
180 g | 2 cup | quick cooking oatmeal |
2.5 ml | 1/2 tsp | salt |
1 | 1 | diced green apple |
250 ml | 1 cup | blueberries |
180 ml | 2/3 cup | maple syrup |
15 ml | 1 tbsp | ground cinnamon |
Preparation
- Cook the bacon cubes at medium-high heat until they are quite crispy. Remove to absorbent paper.
- Pour the water into a medium-size no-stick bowl, add salt, bring to a simmer, lower the heat, add the oatmeal while stirring constantly and cook for 5 minutes. Remove, add the maple syrup and the cinnamon, mix well and pour into the 6 bowls.
- Sprinkle each bowl with the diced apple, the blueberries and the crispy bacon and serve warm.
